Candidate-reported interview process

It was a pretty standard interview process overall. Started with a basic HR chat on the phone. Then, I had a call with the hiring manager. The last part was an in-person meeting with two managers. The whole thing felt really slow, like a test of patience, actually. For me, 3 rounds took about 2 to 2.5 months. I had to keep nudging the recruiter for updates. The final round got pushed back by like 15 days for some 'unforeseen' reasons. I felt I did great in all rounds, but they ended up finding someone else who they thought was a 'better match'.

As an internal referral, I first had a 30-45 minute phone screen with the hiring manager, going over my resume and some basic questions. Then, I was invited for a face-to-face interview. The initial chat with the hiring manager was good, but the face-to-face felt like a 'good cop/bad cop' situation. One panelist was really abrasive, and the clinical nurse manager was incredibly rude and uninterested during the second hour of the 2-hour interview. The first hour was with two managers. I was initially excited about the company and manager, but left doubting if I wanted the job due to the rude panel members. Ultimately, I'm glad I didn't get an offer.

The interview process had three stages. I interviewed for the public affairs department. First, I spoke with HR, then I met with the manager, and last I met the executive director.
