It was a telephone interview. They asked some usual questions about my experience, but I didn't have much time to ask my own questions. I managed to ask one question before the interview was cut short because of time. It seems like all the job postings for this department are pretty general, trying to attract a lot of applicants to see who fits, which suggests they aren't totally sure what they need for these positions.
I got an email to come in for an onsite interview. There were many interview iterations. It was a lengthy process. They gave me a behavior evaluation survey which was very long. I didn't like the hiring process overall, but after the offer, the company welcomes their employees very well.
It's a long process, it takes time to even get the first call. When you do get the call, expect to interview with about 5-7 people. Some of these will be panel interviews. The work culture is a bit hit or miss, it really depends on the department. Middle management could use some training on people management.
