Had a 1 hour zoom interview with two junior engineers and one senior engineer. They asked typical interview questions like strengths, weaknesses, why you want to work here, and a challenge you've overcome. It was pretty standard. They also asked how the internship would align with my career aspirations.

The interview was kind of a mixed bag. One person was great and led the chat really well. The other interviewer though, got stuck on one question and kept asking it over and over even after I answered it well, until I said it just how they wanted. It feels like interviews should be about seeing what someone can do, and also knowing they can learn. If someone isn't meeting expectations, it's better to give them pointers than just repeat the same thing.

The recruitment process, managed by an headhunter and conducted entirely in English, dragged on for several months and was quite a ordeal. It involved introductory meetings, in-person interviews in Turin and Milan, followed by further psychometric assessments. Throughout this, there were long waits of several days between each stage with no feedback. Ultimately, it seems the selection process ended without a positive outcome.

So after you apply, a recruiter gives your resume a once-over. Then, you'll likely have one or two chats that are mostly about your personality, what projects you've done before, and your reasons for wanting to come to WSP. A few teams might throw in a quick technical chat or a task to complete, but a lot of the interviews are pretty chill and focused on your resume. If your references check out and it feels like a good match for everyone, then you'll get to the offer part.
