I had a panel interview with three people who were E1s and E2s from the team I would be joining. The conversation was easy and they talked to me like a normal person. The interviewers gave me a lot of details about the role and were very open.

First, there was a screening call with the manager. Then, an interview was scheduled with the manager and a team member, but the team member couldn't make it. The interview was pretty generic, asking about my work and how my previous experiences fit the skillsets for the internship. They also asked some general 'get to know you' questions. I do think the whole internship application process was disorganized.

So for the WSP New Zealand internship, it starts with a quick video interview. You'll get an invite to do this video interview by a certain date. Just make sure you're in a quiet spot with no distractions, dressed like you would be for an in-person interview. If you can, use a plain background. Before you even get to the video interview, they want you to read up on WSP on their website so you know what they're about. This video interview is basically for them to see how well you communicate, if you're professional, and if you're a good fit for the role. It's your chance to show them what you've got, your experience, and why you're keen to join. All in all, it's a pretty big part of their hiring process to see if you and WSP are a good match.
