It was a 1.5-hour technical interview where they checked my structural engineering skills. They wanted to see how I interpret code, do design calculations, analyze loads, detail things, and solve problems. The focus was on using standards practically, leading big projects, and coming up with safe, efficient, and new structural solutions, like a senior engineer should.

The interview was kind of a mixed bag. One person was great and led the chat really well. The other interviewer though, got stuck on one question and kept asking it over and over even after I answered it well, until I said it just how they wanted. It feels like interviews should be about seeing what someone can do, and also knowing they can learn. If someone isn't meeting expectations, it's better to give them pointers than just repeat the same thing.

The interview went well, it was structured but also like a chat. First, they asked about my past work, like what projects I did, what I was responsible for, and what was hard about them. Then, they tested my technical knowledge with questions about concepts and how to solve problems. After that, the interviewer told me about their team, how it's set up, what they're working on, and the company culture. It was interesting and helpful to learn more about the job and the team.
