Warehouse Associate
The whole process takes about 3 hours if you pass the two number tests after the first interview. Before that, I had to fill out a paper form with my work experience and education a few days before. The first interview was with an HR person, then there were two number-related tests: verifying a bunch of numbers (like 86965-89695), and identifying patterns (like 1,2,3,4,5,_,_; 2,4,8,16,32,64,_,_; 2,1,2,3,2,5,2,7,_,_). If you passed all these, you then had interviews with the warehouse managers on the same day (in my case, 3 more interviews). After that, you just wait to hear back about an offer.
- Can you share a positive and a negative aspect of your previous employer?
- Do you intend to utilize your degree in your future career path?
- What is your reason for departing from your current job?
Sales Manager
The interview process included 3 tests. The first test was a writing assignment where you had to summarize a given paragraph using bullet points. The second test involved answering 200 questions in 4 minutes, focused on identifying matching random numbers. The third test, also within 4 minutes, had 30 questions requiring you to predict the next two numbers in a numerical sequence. After completing these tests, there was a one-on-one interview with the HR manager. Based on this, they would let you know if you moved on to a second interview with the sales management team.
- Can you summarize this paragraph using bullet points?
- Are these two random numbers the same?
- What are the next two numbers in this sequence?
Warehouse Associate/Warehouse Order Picker
The hiring journey kicked off with a mandatory in-person aptitude assessment, which involved solving math sequence problems and completing fill-in-the-blank questions. Following this, I had an interview. The overall application involved several steps: sending in my resume, filling out an online application, and then completing a paper application on-site for both the Warehouse Associate and Warehouse Order Picker positions. The interview went well and touched on important logistical details like my availability to start, if I'm willing to work extra hours, my comfort level with being closely managed, my preferred shift, and what pay I'm looking for. I was told I would have a second interview with the Warehouse Manager and would hear back within five days. However, I was surprisingly rejected via email just four days later. What was strange about this rejection was the reason given: they stated they couldn't provide a specific reason for the denial due to a high volume of applicants, which was different from a rejection my friend got who applied around the same time. This confusing communication has left me unsure about where things stand with the second role I applied for.
- When is your desired start date?
- Are you amenable to working overtime?
- How do you feel about micromanagement?
HR Coordinator
The hiring process was quick, taking about a week from application to final decision. It involved a few assessments, both online and in-person, which were straightforward but demanded precision and carefulness. I was prepared for this due to other reviews. The in-person interview was a bit strange; I met with a Supply Manager instead of someone from HR. He didn't have my resume and didn't seem to know the job details. When I asked about expected improvements for HR in this role, he said, 'Uline is a perfect machine, nothing needs to change.' This struck me as a red flag, hinting at a rigid company culture with little room for new ideas. I didn't get specific feedback, just a generic rejection email stating they were moving in a different direction. The position is still open after more than a month.
- Can you tell me about your past KPIs?
- What motivates you to want to work for Uline?
