Quality Technician
I got an email to schedule my first interview with an HR rep. I prepped by researching the company and the job I was applying for, and also reviewed the STAR interview prep they sent. But, barely two minutes into the interview, the HR rep mentioned it's a 3rd shift position (10pm-6am) and asked if that would be an issue. This info wasn't even in the job posting. It feels like a waste of time for everyone when the hours aren't clearly stated upfront.
- Would the 3rd shift hours of 10pm-6am pose a problem for you in this role?
Supervisor
The interview process was okay. Communication was a bit vague and scheduling was a little uncertain. The recruiter interview felt more like a hiring manager interview. It was mostly behavioral questions and lasted about an hour. The actual interview had 4 people in different sessions. I never got any feedback on the outcome, neither an offer nor a rejection was communicated.
- Tell me about a situation where you had to deal with associates.
- Can you describe an instance that highlights your teamwork skills?
- Share an experience where you had to solve a problem.
Engineering Management Development Associate
The interview process for the role in Clinton, Iowa had 2 steps. It started with a 40-minute online call with a recruiter. After that, I was invited for an on-site interview, and they covered all my travel expenses. During the on-site, I had three 30-minute interviews with different managers, including R&D Engineering Managers, Facility Engineers, an HR Manager, and Manufacturing/IT Managers. Everyone was really nice and easy to talk to, making the interviews feel comfortable. I thought I had prepared well for general, situational, and behavioral questions, but some of the questions asked weren't quite what I expected, so I ended up using similar examples in different interviews. I had questions for each interviewer, but couldn't get answers to everything because of time limits. I think I might have asked too many questions, which could have seemed like a lot. The social hour on the first night was a great part though. It was a good chance to connect with the team and see the different types of MDAs. I noticed the company culture and environment were pretty different from what I'm used to, which made the opportunity more appealing.
- Can you share an instance where you had to convince your team to embrace a new idea or method? What was your strategy for getting them on board?
Training Specialist
The first call with the recruiter was pretty chill, they seemed nice. I was told I'd hear back in a few days but it took a week for them to ask if I could come in for an in-person interview. They said during the phone screening I'd get a week's notice for the in-person but I only got two days. I had to ask to reschedule because I was out of state and then the recruiter just ghosted me. It's been over a month now. When I checked my application status, it said withdrawn. Really bummed about the lack of communication and how unprofessional it all was.
