First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nestlé Purina U.S..
Territory Manager
It started with a phone interview, and then if you’re lucky enough you’ll get moved onto the final step which is the in-person interviews in St. Louis. There were 3 1 hour interviews, and I was told this was an “entry” level job. I have multiple years as a Territory Manager managing assignments more than twice their size. I was rejected for more “qualified” candidates with your typical canned HR response. Thanks for the free trip to St. Louis though.
- What are some typical behavior-based questions?
Territory Manager
It started with a phone interview, just 3 behavioral questions looking for tons of detail on the issue, solution, and result. If that went well, I went to corporate for a face-to-face interview. That involved meeting with 3 different Team Leaders for an hour each, followed by a tour. The face-to-face was similar to the phone interview, they reviewed my resume and asked 3 more behavioral questions. The interviewers were really friendly and conversational, which made it enjoyable. My only complaint is the lack of communication from HR. I was told I'd hear back within 2 weeks, but it's been 2 months with no word. I suspect I might be on the bench, but it's unclear if they notify candidates about that. I felt I did well and was hoping for an offer or at least some closure.
- Can you share an instance where you had to change the direction of a project?
- Describe a situation where you successfully turned around a challenging customer or account.
- Give an example of a time you exceeded expectations to assist a customer.
Territory Manager
I put my application in on the NPPC website and then got a call for a phone interview. After that, I was invited to St. Louis for an interview with 3 directors in sales/supply chain. They were really accommodating and professional. The culture there was laid back, with dogs at work, and everyone really enjoyed it.
- Can you tell me about a time you took a big risk and how you dealt with it?
