Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nestlé Purina U.S..
Talent Acquisition Specialist
This company's interview process for this department is a complete mess. They claim to focus on behavioral questions, but I've heard from multiple current employees that interviewers here avoid hiring candidates who are better than them. I experienced this firsthand recently. Trust me, avoid this place like the plague. This department has seen a lot of good people leave, and when that happens, there's usually a really good reason. The poor management in this department is really obvious throughout their interview and hiring process.
- Tell me about a time you had to handle a difficult candidate.
- Describe a situation where you had to manage multiple open requisitions simultaneously.
- Walk me through your process for sourcing passive candidates.
Recruiter
I got an email to set up a phone interview that was behavior-based. A recruiter called me and we talked through two questions. Later that day, I was invited for an in-person interview. I met with three people who all asked me similar but different behavior-based questions. A few days later, I got an offer. You should totally do your research and practice a lot. Bringing small bullet point notes can help if you need it.
- Can you share an instance where you had to deal with a challenging coworker?
- Describe a situation where you needed to adjust your priorities.
Recruiter
Applied to a role and got a call back for an interview about a week later. It was a 30-minute interview, and then I was asked to do a 3-panel interview. Lots of prep was involved. Everyone was really nice and knew their stuff! I was told I'd hear about next steps in a few days. A few days passed, and nothing. I reached out to the recruiter I initially spoke with and was told decisions would be made by the end of that week. The week ended, and still nothing. I was pretty surprised there was no follow-up or info after such a long interview process.
- Tell me about a time you had to get your team to agree to something they were initially resistant to.
