First there was a phone screening to check if you can work in the UK and to confirm your availability for the in-branch interview. They then send you the interview details and a link to an interview guide. Two branch managers conducted the interview, asking about your background, your motivation for the job, and behavioral/situational questions from the interview guide. After the interview, you were given a role play scenario to test your customer relationship skills, with 5 minutes to prepare. Finally, they gave you information about the position and time for your questions.

I sent my resume to the hiring manager for a job role in his team at natwest. I cleared the first technical round, then the second technical round, as well as a managerial discussion. Then, all of a sudden, after all this, I was told to appear for one more tech round F2F. They were insisting that I might have used AI to cheat in the virtual rounds. I attended the F2F round and then got a reply that the feedback was positive and the next step would be HR collecting documents and salary expectations. Now, for 2 months after this, the HR did not contact me even after my multiple follow-ups. Then, a workday role was created, and I was referred and asked to apply, then got an email from HR for current payslips and other docs. Post this, HR scheduled a call for salary discussion, and we agreed on some number. Then finally, I got an email from HR stating I am no longer being considered for this role. No explanations were given on what went wrong.

Behavioral Technical

The interview process had some issues. A lot of the time was spent talking about salary expectations, and it wasn't very clear what the actual job involved. The duties discussed didn't match the original job description, so it was hard to know what the position was really about. Also, the interviewers weren't people you'd be working with daily. The hiring managers weren't even directly involved, making the process feel disconnected from the job. This left uncertainty about the team, expectations, and how leadership works. Plus, it seemed like there was some hesitation about hiring people who need work visa sponsorship because of the current situation. This felt like it was influencing things without being upfront with candidates. Basically, the interviews felt more like a check-the-box thing than a real evaluation of whether you'd be a good fit. It didn't give a clear or trustworthy picture of the job or the team, and candidates might end up with more confusion.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

So for a Business Analyst role at a bank, it usually starts with HR giving you a quick chat to see if you're a good fit and why you want the job. Then, you might do a technical test or a case study to see how you think and solve problems. After that, you'll likely have interviews with a few managers and senior analysts. They'll want to talk about your past work, what you know about the business, how you read data, how you communicate, and if you'd fit in with the team. Some places might also ask you to give a presentation or analyze a situation, or maybe ask behavioral questions to see how you handle teamwork, work with others, and adapt to changes, before they decide to make an offer.
