Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NatWest Group.
Finance Analyst
I did an online test first that had some situational judgement questions and also some numerical questions about things like percentage changes and working with graphs and pie charts. Then the last step was a video interview where I had to pre-record my answers to about 4 or 5 questions. They mostly asked about why I wanted this role, why I chose NatWest, and if I could describe a time I worked with a team.
- What are you hoping to incorporate into your day-to-day job activities?
- What makes you the best fit for this position?
- What draws you to this particular opportunity?
Structured Finance Analyst
I got to a virtual assessment centre, which had a written test that felt really rushed. There was also a group activity that was fun, and a regular interview with typical questions.
- Can you share an experience of working in a team?
- Tell me about a time you collaborated with a team.
Banker
There were online assessments and then a face to face interview. They asked about real-life situations and how I applied techniques. Also asked about challenges/successes, how I overcame them, and why I am suitable for this role. Finally, they asked what I would bring to the company.
- Can you describe a challenging or successful situation you faced?
- Explain how you dealt with that challenge or success.
- What makes you a good fit for this position?
