I sent my resume to the hiring manager for a job role in his team at natwest. I cleared the first technical round, then the second technical round, as well as a managerial discussion. Then, all of a sudden, after all this, I was told to appear for one more tech round F2F. They were insisting that I might have used AI to cheat in the virtual rounds. I attended the F2F round and then got a reply that the feedback was positive and the next step would be HR collecting documents and salary expectations. Now, for 2 months after this, the HR did not contact me even after my multiple follow-ups. Then, a workday role was created, and I was referred and asked to apply, then got an email from HR for current payslips and other docs. Post this, HR scheduled a call for salary discussion, and we agreed on some number. Then finally, I got an email from HR stating I am no longer being considered for this role. No explanations were given on what went wrong.

So I had this face-to-face interview, but the interviewer didn't even introduce himself, which was weird. Right off the bat, he seemed really dismissive and uninterested. He asked some tech questions, but he wouldn't even let me finish answering them. Like, he asked me to code a FastAPI endpoint, and while I was still typing it out, maybe 30 seconds in, he grabbed the paper and said it was wrong. Then he looked again and realized it was actually right, but you could tell he was uncomfortable that I got it. The first half hour, I was doing okay with his questions even though he kept cutting me off. But the second half, his attitude got to me, and I started messing up on a few questions. He then really focused on those missed answers for the rest of the time. Honestly, it felt like he already had someone picked for the job and was just going through the motions. It didn't feel fair or professional at all.

The interview process felt organized and professional. First, there was an online test with coding and logic questions. If you passed that, you'd go to a technical interview that checked your knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and Java. They also asked me to talk about a previous project I did and the difficulties I encountered. Lastly, there was a brief chat about teamwork and how I solve problems. It all went pretty smoothly, and the interviewers were nice, which made it less nerve-wracking.
