First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Eaton.
Engineering Intern
So I interviewed at a conference, it was a 2-on-1 thing where they asked me questions and then I asked them questions. They introduced themselves first and then asked me to do the same. Then they told me the questions were all behavioral and asked me about 5-7 questions about my experiences. They sometimes asked specific follow-up questions about my resume, like asking how I reached a conclusion on a project. After that, I got to ask them questions.
- Can you share an instance where you utilized technology to assist you?
- Tell me about a time you sought feedback and how you put that feedback into practice.
- Regarding a past project, how did you arrive at your specific conclusion?
Continuous Improvement Manager
The Eaton team didn’t seem very engaged during our interview. Their lack of excitement about their jobs and the company vibe was a bit worrying, and it made me feel uninspired about potentially joining them. The conversations felt more like a transaction than a real discussion, and I didn’t get the impression that they were truly considering what I could bring to the table. I was pretty disappointed with how the candidate experience went, and I ended up pulling my application because it made me wonder about how employees are treated there daily.
- Can you discuss your general background and the relevant experience on your resume?
Leave Support Specialist
The interview process included a total of 6 interviews. It started with a recruiter phone call, followed by a Teams meeting with the hiring manager. Then, there were four individual in-person interviews with the hiring manager, their superior, HR, and a team member. The whole process spanned about a month. The only drawback was the rejection communication. After so many interviews and an entire day spent interviewing in person, a phone call for a rejection would have been more professional than a generic email. While not being ghosted was appreciated, receiving some feedback, positive or negative, would be beneficial for future job searches and shows respect for the candidate's time and effort. This aspect prevented a perfect score.

Data Engineer
It was an on campus round with 2 technical rounds and one hr round. In the technical rounds, they went through my resume and asked me about my projects and also asked me which technologies i have learned apart from the ones taught in curriculum. This was followed by hr round only for selected students wherein we were asked our hobbies, favourite sport and some behavioural questions.
- Can you tell me about your projects?
- Could you explain each attribute of your dataset?
- What technologies have you learned outside of the curriculum?
