First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Eaton.
Product Engineer
Had a phone call then a regular interview. It was pretty standard and basic. The phone call was about 15 minutes with their internal recruiter, asking about salary and why I'm looking for another position. After that, I talked to the hiring manager to discuss my experience via video call.
- What's prompting your job search and why are you interested in Eaton?
- Can you tell me why you are looking to leave your last position and why you applied to Eaton?
Engineer
I interviewed for an Engineer position and went through all the rounds. It was a pleasant experience overall, with a mix of challenging and easy questions. My main issue was with HR; they were inflexible on salary negotiation and didn't offer compensation aligned with company standards. Despite sending multiple emails about the outcome, I received no response. I'd appreciate it if HR recruiters could at least reply, even with a rejection, as candidates invest time and effort.
- Tell us about yourself.
- What can you tell me about switchgear components?
- Describe how you managed and overcame project challenges.
Lead Engineer
I had a recruiter phone call where they asked some basic screening questions before forwarding my resume to the hiring manager. The hiring manager then scheduled a call for two days later. I think this call was to assess if I was a good fit for the role, potentially leading to an onsite interview, which would be a half-day event. The call was scheduled for 45 minutes but ended in 30 minutes, perhaps because the hiring manager felt I might not be suitable. Since it was for a full-stack position, I was asked very basic questions about Angular and Spring RESTful. I felt I wasn't tested thoroughly, and the interviewer seemed uninterested, though I might be mistaken. The questions were generic and didn't allow me to showcase my skills.
- Could you answer some basic full stack questions?
- Can you tell me about your experience with Angular?
- Can you tell me about your experience with Java?
