& Process

So, there are three parts to the interview process. First, you talk to an HR person on the phone to see if you're a good fit for the job based on your qualifications. Then, you have another phone call with the hiring manager who asks you some somewhat technical questions and tells you more about what the job entails. Finally, there's a panel interview.

This was a single round interview that included managerial and technical questions. They mainly covered the basics and my previous experience. There was a coding round to check my coding proficiency, and topics around embedded systems were discussed. Most questions were scenario-based, focusing on my previous projects. They also asked about system design and the debugging process.

Had an initial phone screen with a recruiter from Eaton. This was followed by an hour-long phone interview with the hiring manager, who asked typical questions like 'what my current role is, why I applied, etc etc'. After the phone interview, I was invited for an onsite interview. Since I was an out-of-state candidate, HR booked my flight and confirmed the schedule for the onsite interview, including who the panel members would be and their time slots. However, on the day of the flight, I found out at the airport that my flight had been cancelled. The travel agency said someone from Eaton cancelled it. When I called Eaton, they admitted they had forgotten to tell me that they were only interested in local candidates at that time and apologized for wasting my time. It was a really poor job by Eaton HR staff, honestly. A simple phone call or email would have cleared everything up and I would have been on my way. Instead, they completely wasted my time and my day. Be wary if you are an out-of-state/area candidate, as they might pull the plug anytime without any notification!
