Applied online, and an HR screener followed up the same week. She was great, very thorough, and provided all the details on the position, salary, next steps, and a helpful guide for the upcoming interview rounds. However, the Sales Manager interview was a complete 180 in professionalism. He was clearly unprepared, had likely glanced at my resume minutes before, and asked only basic questions. When I asked specifically about Workday products and Workday Sana, he couldn't speak to them, defaulting to AI buzzwords and internal product SKU jargon. And he's a sales manager? Not impressed, especially learning he wasn't even the hiring team's manager. Overall, your experience will heavily depend on who's interviewing you and how knowledgeable they actually are about Workday. Worth noting that following Q4 layoffs in January 2026, they're actively hiring in sales despite declining stock value and rumors of a potential buyout via Reddit.

I applied and got contacted quickly for a first call with the hiring manager. It was a nice, professional chat, and I was told I'd move on. But then, communication just stopped. I followed up a few times with no reply. I even messaged the person I was supposed to meet next, and they said they'd look into it internally, but again, nothing. Finally, I got an automated rejection email with no heads-up or real reason. It started well, but the lack of updates after I was confirmed for the next step was really disappointing. A quick message would've been more respectful of my time.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

Started with a phone interview with the recruiter where we went over some basic questions. They took their time answering my questions and explained what to expect next. Then, I had a second interview with the hiring manager for the role, which was very behavioral. The third round involved interviews with two different managers. One was for the inbound team, and the second was for the outbound team. One of these interviews felt more conversational than the other. One of the managers I spoke with would be my direct supervisor, while the other managed my manager and was from a different site.

Behavioral Coding System Design Behavioral

It was a 30 min Hiring Manager screen, then a 60 min coding interview that was pretty easy. After that, there was a 60 min ML system design interview which was not what was advertised. The prep guide said feature engineering and modeling, but it turned out to be an agentic AI design. I personally don't think agentic AI design is ML system design. The ML system design interview was a bad experience. The interviewer was dismissive of my projects. Other interviewers were nice though. The last round was a 30 min behavior with the skip level.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • The hiring manager asked about my background and if I was a good fit.
  • The coding interview was a LeetCode easy-medium level question.
  • The system design interview started with my projects and then moved to an agentic AI design.
