Engagement Manager
Recruiter screening, then a behavioral interview, then two job fit interviews, and finally an executive interview. The process was okay, though it took a long time. The main feedback was that some interviewers seemed to have fixed ideas about experience. This might be because some interviewers came from acquired companies, not directly from Workday, and they tended to dismiss experience if it wasn't with the same solution they'd been working on. Just something to keep in mind, make sure to explain EXACTLY how it's related to them or they won't get it.
- Describe your strategy for managing teams.
- How do you handle project management?
Engagement Manager
I went through six interviews and a panel presentation, and the process was intense. I was informed that I had been selected for the position but was told I needed to wait for budget approval. However, after two months of hearing the same response without receiving an official offer, I eventually stopped following up. It’s baffling to think that a company would post a job, conduct interviews, and even tell a candidate they’ve been selected, only to later reveal that the position still needs approval. It makes no sense. Having hired teams and worked with HR for 20 years, I’ve never encountered a situation where a candidate is selected for an unapproved position, only to have their time wasted for two months and then told the position isn't approved. It’s not just frustrating; it’s unacceptable. Clearly, trust is not one of their hiring principles.

Engagement Manager
It was a tough process. Started with a phone interview with the recruiter, then the hiring manager. After that, I had a mock presentation to a steering committee, which was the hardest part of the day, lasting almost 4 hours. Workday employees played C-level customer executives during the presentation. I also had 1:1 interviews on site with 6 senior employees that day.
- The mock presentation was the most difficult part.
