First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Workday.
Consultant
The Workday recruiter used their "AI Agent" for scheduling and answering questions, which I assume is because Workday, as an HCM, would leverage their own advanced AI. However, the Talent Acquisition team member didn't show up for the Zoom meeting. Since it was all "AI," there was no email address to contact the recruiter. I went back to the AI Agent for help, and it responded, "Feel free to visit workday.com and find out all you need to know about Workday as a company" and "Would recommend you reach out to your assigned recruiter for further information." I couldn't get any help because there was no one to contact to see if the recruiter was delayed by a previous meeting. This isn't "AI," it's a chatbot disguised as an "AI" service. Chatbot intelligence has existed for years. Calling it AI allows them to charge higher prices to customers. We'll see if that strategy works.

HCM Consultant
I had four interviews in total, consisting of 3 individual ones and 1 panel interview. The interviews themselves went well, but unfortunately, I didn't receive any follow-up from the recruiter or anyone I spoke with during the process. It would have been the professional approach to provide feedback on whether they were proceeding with an offer or not. When I inquired about an update, the only response I received was that they were handling headcount allocations. I suggest Workday treat their candidates with more respect, even if it's just a basic courtesy.

Functional Consultant
I applied through my university's careers portal, and also had an employee referral which I think helped me connect with a recruiter early on. My recruiter was nice but hard to reach throughout the process; she was helpful when I did hear from her, but many emails and calls went unanswered. First, I had a brief phone screen with the recruiter. After over a month of silence, I got an email to set up a 45-minute video interview. This first round involved behavioral and situational questions about my studies, Workday knowledge, and interest in consulting, and felt like a good chance to get to know each other. Another month passed before I was invited to a final round interview day (FRIday). Despite being unable to reach my recruiter for prep, the setting was relaxed and inviting. At FRIday, about 15 candidates and I attended several presentations and had four 45-minute 1-on-1 interviews with friendly employees who shared about their Workday experiences and were interested in my background. About a week later, I had a 30-minute video interview with the "pillar leader" to discuss concerns, my interest in Workday/consulting, and relevant experiences. A few days later, my recruiter called about offer details, and I received the official offer letter via email the next day.
