Behavioral Technical

My experience with the interview was not great, especially towards the end. It started off a bit unprofessional with the HR call starting 20 minutes late. Then, halfway through, they changed the role from Growth Marketing Manager to Digital Advertising Strategist, which was a big change from what I initially applied for. I also talked to someone who works there, and when I asked why I applied, he got really loud with me about my application, even though he wasn't involved in the hiring. After that, I felt like in a later interview, one person had already decided they weren't going to give me a fair shot. It all just left me feeling pretty disappointed.

The first part was a general round checking python and SQL skills. Questions were relevant to data science, not random DSA. Then, they asked questions about my resume, checking fundamental knowledge and verifying my experience. The second round was a deep dive discussion for 1.5 hours, with a vague case study. I had to define the problem statement, data, modelling process, and evaluation techniques. The interviewer probed deeply into ML modelling techniques and my overall solutioning approach.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Conceptual question about SQL joins and a small implementation question were asked, followed by pandas questions on dataframe manipulation and calculating rolling averages of lags.
  • Questions were asked about resume content, focusing on fundamentals and verifying my claimed experience.
  • The second round involved many questions and cross-questions regarding my approach to the case study, including the rationale for choosing specific data and alternative possibilities.

Technical Coding Case Behavioral

So I reached out to HR on LinkedIn first and got a referral. Then there was a quick screening call with about 10 basic questions, and they also asked for some background stuff like college and grades before setting up the first real interview. Round 1 was all about basic coding with Pandas and SQL. Round 2 was a case study related to demand forecasting for different inventory items, where we talked a lot about using XGBoost, how to engineer features, and picking the right model. Round 3 was a chat with the VP, basically a deep dive into my resume, going through each job and what I did.

Confirmed questions6 questions
  • Can you explain how to construct lagged features to prevent data leakage?
  • Regarding bias and variance, what would be the expected outcome if a single tree was chosen from Decision Trees, Random Forests, or XGBoost?
  • Could you explain TF-IDF?

Technical

So I interviewed for the Site Reliability Engineer role at Pattern Technologies, Pune, and honestly, it was a pretty disappointing experience. The technical rounds themselves were fine, I cleared them all. But then after that, HR told me I'd get an email for a reference check, which is where things went south. I never got that email and they just completely ghosted me. No word, no closure, nothing. It's kinda ironic since they market themselves as a 'Great Place to Work' with a big focus on culture and being professional. Getting ghosted like that after they said there were more steps coming really made me question if their employer branding is even real. They should really take this feedback and fix their candidate experience. A simple rejection or even just an explanation would have been way better than just silence.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Can you discuss your experience with ECS, AWS, and migrating from ECS to EKS?
