ECommerce Manager
The interview process was quite long and emotionally draining, with about a week's wait for confirmation after each round. I stayed in touch with the HR manager throughout. After the third round, the actual assessment began. They initially asked for my accolades, credentials, awards, and other recognitions, which I provided, assuming they were verifying my resume. My interviewers then asked questions about my technical knowledge and my behavior. They went deep into the details of my past three employers, asking questions like how my manager would rate my technical knowledge, my relationship with my manager, and how my manager would describe me for each past role. They also requested references, including emails and phone numbers for seven people, with two ex-managers being mandatory. After about seven to ten days, the HR manager mentioned that our CEO in the US reviews new hire information to ensure we hire the best, and that my A+ resume would be shared, assuring me I was 95% likely to be hired, pending CEO approval. I found it a bit strange that the CEO would review resumes for a mid-level role in India, but I accepted their explanation as their way of ensuring transparency. Both the recruiter and HR manager kept in contact, giving me positive feedback and making me feel excited about the organization. This went on for about two weeks, which they called the 'CEO Approval Process.' Then, after 14-16 days, I was completely ghosted. After 18 days, I finally heard from the HR manager that the CEO had rejected my resume. I was shocked, especially after they took over two months to complete the process, gave me hope, and then rejected me without a clear reason, seemingly based on the CEO's mood or a quick resume review without actual interview participation or recorded interviews. I found it unusual for a CEO to spend so much time reviewing a resume for a mid-level position, especially coming from large organizations where this isn't typical.
- Why are you interested in joining our company?
- What accolades, awards, or recognitions have you received?
- Could you describe your relationship with your manager?
ECommerce Manager
It was a 4-round interview process. They looked at my resume first, then asked me about my past jobs and some "role play" type scenario questions. After the interviews, there was a reference check, and then an executive review where a third party checked my LinkedIn and resume for any issues or questions.
- Tell me about your proudest accomplishment in your previous job and the biggest challenge you faced there.
- If you observed a 50% week-over-week drop in sales for a brand, what steps would you take to determine the reason?
eCommerce Manager
The interview process involved multiple interviews. The job seemed interesting and a good match. They also checked my references. I got a verbal offer and was told I could resign from my current job, but then I never heard back from the company, despite multiple attempts to contact them. I was ghosted. I would only recommend applying if you're okay with your career prospects being as uncertain as your dating life. I'm really disappointed with the lack of professionalism shown by ghosting me after a verbal offer. There was also a lot of confusion about the salary and commission structure, with the recruiter and directors giving different explanations.
- Does your current employer do business with us? If so, it would be a conflict of interest.
