I did a phone interview with the VP of Recruiting and was impressed with her passion for the brand and for Recruiting. Next I did a panel video interview with the head of people and another member of the team. They answered questions that I had and helped me solidify the expected outcomes of the role. Lastly I did a lunch meet and greet. There they took the time to answer remaining questions that I had. I did not receive a job offer but I felt that their recruitment process was candidate centric and that they genuinely wanted me to succeed.

I had an initial phone chat with a talent acquisition specialist at Pattern. It was about 30 minutes, mostly to help me get a better sense of Pattern and see if my goals and skills matched the gig. The person I talked to was nice and knew their stuff about the job and company. After that, they invited me for an in-person interview. I got a tour of the office, and then I met with some of the Talent Acquisition team. Everyone was really friendly and welcoming, and it felt like they really wanted to be sure I'd be a good fit if hired. The whole thing was pretty fast and went smoothly. They reached out within a week of me applying, and the whole interview process took about 2 weeks.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process was extensive, involving meetings with their senior leadership team, including the Director of HR, CFO, CPO, Head of Ops, and finally the CEO. It was based on the Top Grading method from the book 'Who,' though the scheduling wasn't perfectly smooth with some issues and postponements. It became apparent during the interviews that Pattern doesn't highly value the HR/Talent function, which raised concerns for me. Notably, the last executive interview began 15 minutes late and was cut short due to another call. In summary, it wasn't a great experience, and I probably wouldn't consider future opportunities here. On a positive note, the people seem great, and they are clearly building a very successful company.
