Kroger Interview Questions
& Process

I got a message to schedule an interview and do an online assessment. The HR Specialist asked some easy questions about customer service, my availability, and my interest in Kroger. Near the end, they asked for my date of birth and then, as I was leaving, asked again if I could do the physical work. They lost me at the DOB question. If not for that, I would have told them about my previous jobs that involved manual labor in the heat. They said my info would go to the store manager and I'd hear back via email or text.

Applied about 5 months ago and it took them about 2 months to reply to me. The process was very disorganized... the team had no idea how many rounds of interviews I had completed and never communicated what the base salary would be. The process continued to be about 2 more months until the final round where I finally declined the offer. Bad process, but nice people overall.

This has got to be the longest and most disorganized interview process ever. I first applied for this role more than a year ago. The hiring manager got in touch and set up an interview, but then canceled it because I wouldn't graduate for another two months, and they needed to hire someone right away. About six weeks later, they contacted me again because the position was still open. I had to go through several steps: a one-on-one interview, a group personality assessment, and an Excel test. They said I'd hear back in about a month, but that kept getting pushed back for almost three months until the company announced they were pausing the hiring process indefinitely. Six months after that, the recruiter contacted me about new roles that seemed like a good fit. Unfortunately, the original hiring manager had lost my application, so I had to do all the assessments and interviews all over again. After finishing everything a second time, I was told to expect a decision in about a month. Again, that got delayed multiple times before the process was paused again. In total, I spent almost a year on this without any real decision or closure. It was super frustrating and disappointing, and it made me wonder how this company handles internal communication and treats candidates.

I sat and answered some questions, then filled out a few papers. The questions were about my work and shopping experience. After that, I filled out papers that listed rules to follow, like dress code, behavior, how to handle different situations, and other rules specific to the department.
