The interview process was confusing. I was asked by five different people at the beginning if I had a college degree, and my answer never changed. They then stated that a college degree or previous department manager experience was required for the position. I have a college degree. After going through the process and accepting the job offer, I joined a training class with 23 other people. Out of those 23, only 3 had college degrees and 2 were prior department managers. That should have been a warning sign, but I overlooked it.

So I applied, and then they sent an assessment. About a week later, I got a second assessment, and then a third assessment about a week after that. A couple of weeks went by, and then I had my first one-on-one interview. After that, there was a second interview which was a panel with five people. Around three weeks later, I got an offer letter. Oh, and now, new applicants have to do a PowerPoint presentation on a specific topic, at least the internal candidates do. I'm not sure about external ones.

After I submitted my resume and cover letter on Kroger's website, I got a call for a telephone interview. Then, I had a one-on-one with the District Manager for the area I was interested in. After that, I had to pass a drug test and a background check. They then offered me a spot in Kroger's 17-week management training program, and I got details about the job, benefits, and salary to help me decide.
