First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kroger.

Got an email about a week after I applied asking me to call within 48 hours if I was still interested. After giving a reference number, they asked me 3 quick questions and then I was scheduled for a group interview the following week. That group interview was mostly about the company, the jobs, and how important customer service is, and it went for about an hour and a half. Everyone got called for one-on-one interviews the next day, which only took about 15 to 20 minutes. I'm still waiting to hear back, but they said it would be a few more days. If I get the job, the email after the phone interview said I'd have to do a drug test and background check. It was a pretty easy process overall, and everyone was really friendly and made me feel comfortable.

the interview was super fast, felt like they already wanted me. after it, i just had to fill out hiring papers and do a drug test. it was short with a couple of easy questions. wasn't offered a job in the area I applied for, but they did offer me a different role in another department.

- Describe how you would manage a situation with an unhappy customer.

Got a phone interview on Tuesday about the job. Then, on Friday, I was set for a face-to-face group interview. But on Wednesday, they called back and said the interview day was a mistake and canceled. They mentioned I might hear about a job offer in the future. So that was a bummer.
- What is your understanding of customer service?
- What are your reasons for wanting to work at Kroger?
