Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Kroger.
Sales Associate
I got referred by a friend to work here. I dropped by the store one day, my friend let the general manager know I was there, and the manager came over, asked me about my availability, and then offered me the job. I started working about a week later.
- What is your availability for the upcoming week?
Sales Associate
The interview process was quite straightforward. They inquired about my availability and previous experience. I received a callback within a few days and started my role about a week later. It was a smooth and uncomplicated process. If you possess basic common sense and respond to questions effectively, you should be fine.
- How would you approach challenging circumstances?
Sales Associate
It was an open interview so they had a lot of people coming in and it was really rushed. It was pretty good at first. She recommended other departments in the store that I might like. She suggested apparel(where I currently am) I told her that I'm 18 I don't have experience in retail because most places won't hire someone under 18. At the end of the interview she told me "you don't have any experience so we probably won't hire you" I ended up getting the job, but I feel this was a bit rude and unprofessional.
- Tell me about a time you collaborated with others to resolve an issue.
