It started with a recruiter reaching out on LinkedIn, then they set up a Karat interview which involved live coding and problem solving. After that, there was a 30-minute chat with the director, followed by a panel interview. They don't really do scrum, so when I mentioned agile terms, the interviewer saw it negatively. I was completely ghosted and never got any email correspondence back, which is a red flag for me. I'm guessing it might have been a ghost job since I didn't even fill out an application.

The whole thing started with a chat, then a technical interview and a review of my resume. It was actually pretty chill, not as intense as I thought it would be. The first chat, with the recruiter, was just about my background, why I'm interested in working here, and a quick look at my experience. It was friendly but still professional, and it took about half an hour. The technical interview was thorough but not crazy hard. The person interviewing me seemed more interested in how I'd handle real situations instead of just theoretical stuff. They threw some actual problems at me and asked how I'd tackle them. There were a few coding bits too, but it felt more like they wanted to see how I thought things through, not if I could perfectly recall algorithms. Going over my resume was a chance for me to really talk about what I've done and achieved. The interviewer seemed genuinely curious about my past projects and asked some really good follow-up questions. It felt more like a genuine conversation than an interrogation.

The interview had 3 parts. First, a 15 min phone screening with HR to see if I was interested, had the right experience, and what my expectations were. They scheduled the second interview for the next day, which was a 30 min Teams interview with two AP supervisors. They asked general questions like why I wanted to work there, my relevant experience, and career goals. They scheduled the third interview for the following week, as one supervisor was out. The third interview was on-site, in an office conference room with two more accounting supervisors. It was a more in-depth interview, about 30 min. I got a job offer call the day after the on-site interview.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

I applied for an Analyst, Loan Servicing Analytics position. During the initial recruiter call, they mentioned another analyst role, role 2, and I thought I qualified. But then it turned out I didn't. I then interviewed with the hiring manager for the original role I applied for. Towards the end of that video call, he started talking about role 2 and said my next interview would be for it. I was surprised when I got invited to the final interview, which was for the original position. It consisted of two panel interviews back-to-back. I was told to expect a case study, but I wasn't given one. Instead, I was asked the same questions in both interviews. I think the hiring manager just wanted to move me forward to meet a quota. He also made a weird, incorrect assumption about me taking out a loan for a car. After that, I got two automated rejection emails, one with an offensive picture of smiling employees.
