They didn't make any effort to get to know me. They just kept asking about my past salary and why I left previous jobs, along with some typical interview questions. They mentioned the position wasn't guaranteed and that I'd be moved to collections after 3 months unless I pursued a 4-year degree. I have a 2-year degree and 10 years of phone and internet sales experience. When I asked if they could make an exception if I was a top performer, they said probably not. I shadowed a representative, and the job seemed really low-class. Apparently, you need a Bachelor's degree to schedule appointments with people in Alabama to get a ride to a sub-prime car lot. The bonus is based on company numbers and has a cap. They didn't hire me because they felt I was overqualified, and they knew it.

The interview process was nice and quick. I liked the managers. They sell expectations for growth as high but it consistently falls short in execution. You're typically told 6 months to senior sales based on background and as though you have control over your training (you don't) and the number of seniors already on staff. There can only be so many senior sales advisors per size of store, location, and growth opportunities across the country.

The interview process was great, the staff was really professional and easy to talk to. To speed up the interview process, I traveled to a dealership to meet with an employee in upper management. During this interview I was given all of the in's and out's of Drivetime and it was very helpful. The culture at this job is like no other. It's like they are a big family and everyone gets along great. This is a great company to get involved with, the company structure is like no other and advancement is inevitable. I am really excited about starting and getting my career going.
