First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DriveTime Automotive Group.
General Manager
The whole thing took about three weeks from start to finish. It kicked off with a recruiter call, followed by two Skype interviews, and then a final phone interview. The recruiter helped sort out the dates and times for all of them. Overall, it was a good experience. They do a really thorough background check and also a drug test. Everyone I interviewed with was polite and to the point. Each manager was from a different department that interfaces with dealerships.
- Tell me about your strengths.
- What about your weaknesses?
- What opportunities do you see?
General Manager
So the interview process was pretty straightforward. They reached out to me first, and we had an initial phone interview. After that, I was scheduled for a Skype interview with the recruiter, who seemed really positive. They asked a lot of questions focused on my management style and also had me walk through my previous job history. The recruiter also asked why I had left my earlier jobs, which felt pretty standard.
- Have you heard of us before and do you know what we do?
- Could you describe your management style?
- Can you walk me through your previous job history?
General Manager
I applied online and went through two phone interviews. Then I had an in-person interview with an Area Manager. The job was posted for a spot in my area, and another 20 miles away. It became clear during the in-person interview that the local position I applied for would only become available if I moved out of state after a 6-month training period.
