I got an email from a recruiter who found me on a job site and I replied saying I was interested. We had a short 15-minute phone call and set up an interview for a few days later. The interview itself was pretty chill and conversational. I met with a manager one-on-one and got a tour of the place. They asked standard questions about my degree, college courses, and organizational skills. It lasted about 45 minutes. A couple days later, the recruiter called back saying the managers liked me and scheduled a second interview for the very next day. This second chat was brief, only 15 minutes, with the same manager and his boss. They said it wasn't really an interview but more of a discussion to figure out the best fit for me, acting like I had the job, which made me feel really good. But then, a day or two after that, I got an email saying they were going with other people, which was a bummer since we'd talked about the role like an offer was coming.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Tell me about your organizational abilities.
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?

I applied online and then spoke with a recruiter about 2 days later over the phone. They asked some really basic background questions and it was a short call, about 10 minutes. The next step was an in-person interview at the store with the GM and Sales Manager about a week after the recruiter call. It was a pretty casual interview, they were really looking for someone with good personality and professionalism and also wanted to know if I was okay with selling cars and moving up. A few days after that, I had a Skype interview with a regional manager. That one was not hard at all, still pretty laid back and they asked typical interview questions.
- What makes you want to join Drivetime?
- What gets you motivated each day?

A recruiter reached out to me after seeing my resume on CareerBuilder. After my call with the recruiter, she arranged for me to meet with the General Manager at the dealership near my home. Although I didn't end up getting the sales position I originally applied for, the GM and my recruiter collaborated to find an Operations role for me to gain more experience before I transition to sales. I've been in this Operations role since starting in August and I'm really happy. I appreciate that my GM didn't just dismiss me but actively sought a suitable opportunity.
- Can you describe your experience with a typical sales interview?
