Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at DriveTime Automotive Group.
Buyer
I spoke with two senior buyers who were very knowledgeable about their jobs. Our conversation focused more on personal experiences than on specific job duties. It seemed like they were more interested in whether I'd be a good fit for the company culture than if my experience was enough. I didn't get the job, and the recruiter said it was due to a lack of experience in team settings, which I found surprising because they didn't actually ask about that.
- Tell me about where you've lived before.
- What are your current activities?
- What motivates your interest in working at DT?
Purchasing Specialist
I sent in my application online and heard back from HR in just two days. The first step was a phone interview with HR where I was asked only behavioral questions. The next day, I had an in-person interview with the hiring manager and a supervisor for the role. They also asked me exclusively behavioral questions.
- Could you tell me about your greatest strength?
Supply Chain Intern
It was pretty short, laid back, and easy. Just be yourself and talk like a normal person and not a robot and you will do great. It was a virtual interview so that can make it better or worse depending on your opinion
- Tell me about a time you demonstrated leadership.
