The interview was engaging and professional, and I found it to be insightful. I really liked the respectful atmosphere, how clear the communication was, and the questions asked were thoughtful. It made the whole experience really positive, and it encouraged me and motivated me to think about future collaboration opportunities.

I showed up 5 minutes early to the store for my interview with Linda, the Assistant Manager. She came to greet me with a smile and we went to the office, which was pretty small and full of boxes. Linda mentioned they were short-staffed and dealing with an employee having to leave early. The interview was quite brief and felt a bit rushed. She let me know that due to corporate needs, she could only guarantee 5-15 hours per week. I confirmed that this was acceptable, provided there were chances to pick up extra shifts from other employees who might be on vacation or taking leave.

I spent 6 weeks going through 4 rounds of interviews and then got ghosted. No communication, no emails responded to. A hiring manager even missed one of my interviews and didn't apologize when it got rescheduled. I guess I dodged a bullet, but I should have checked the other reviews before thinking I'd be 'different'. Why would I believe a company the size of DG would have a good process and not ghost finalists? Listen to the other awful reviews and don't waste your time!
