First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Dollar General.
Sales
Good, generally ok and can get through well for understanding what its about and if its a fit, I think it's very easy to manage actually, everyone can do it from the base
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What is your motivation for applying to this position?
Sales Lead
My interview experience was quite unprofessional. A manager showed up late and made a joke about just waking up. I was looking for part-time work with flexible hours, but was told that part-time actually requires a minimum of 40 hours with a set schedule, and full-time is flexible at 40 hours. The manager also mentioned that I would be responsible for closing the store and counting money so they could leave early.
- What are your available hours?
Sales Lead
I had a one-on-one with the store manager. They asked some basic questions about my experience and availability. The manager made me feel really comfortable and didn't ask the typical 'tell me about yourself' questions. They were also quick and helpful with any questions I had.
- Tell me about your experience that qualifies you for this role.
- What is your availability?
- Are you able to pass a background check?
