First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Yell.
Digital Consultant
The interview process was pretty simple. Recruiters asked common questions about my years of experience and when I could start. The first interview was a phone call, and the second one was a video interview.
- Could you tell me about your past work experience?
- Do you have any experience with the Wix platform?
Telesales Agent
The interview journey was smooth and organised. Tracy, my recruiter, was great – she was clear, helpful, and really easy to talk to. She kept me updated throughout, making a process that's usually stressful feel professional and easy. Then I had my second chat with David, which was more about practical stuff, like how I'd deal with actual sales situations. He was straight to the point but fair, and the conversation really helped me get what the job involves and what the team is like. Both interviews were quick, respectful, and gave me a good feeling about the company.
- Can you explain your reasons for believing Yell is a suitable company for you?
- Describe your approach to managing a client who is reluctant to invest in digital advertising.
Sales Representative
The interview was pretty laid back, mostly just chatting. They asked a few things about my personality, how I work, and my general people skills. It was more about who I am as a person than my actual sales skills or experience, though they did touch on those topics too.
- Tell me about your work ethic.
- What actions would you take if you were not hitting your sales targets?
Business Development Manager
The interview process involved a power point presentation followed by some interview questions to see if the job aligns to the criteria. It was a really positive experience; the interviewer, Aaron, made me feel very at ease and comfortable, and we even broke the ice with laughter. The online onboarding process after acceptance was super quick and modern, using facial recognition and passport chip linking to an iPhone. The whole thing took 3 days from interview to contact.
- Could you tell me about your aspirations and values?
