Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Yell.
Digital Specialist
I found the job on yell.com and applied online. I got a call the very next day for a phone interview, then I had to do an online test, and finally, I went in for a face-to-face interview. They told me I was invited to the next training intake about a week later. The whole thing took less than two weeks. My recruiter was super nice and I could always reach them and they answered my questions fast. First impression was great.
- Can you tell me why you applied for this position?
- What was your experience like when you were on the phones with customers?
- Can you provide some general employment information?
Digital Specialist
Started with a simple application form, then had a telephone interview. Tests were sent through email which were very easy and simple. After that, there was a 2-hour interview face to face. This involved role play, listening to people on calls doing the job, and basic interview questions. Finally, a phone call to discuss the outcome.
- How do you handle customers who are angry, upset, or unhappy?
Onboarding Specialist
The interview process involved a role play, where I sat with current employees to see the job in action, followed by a lengthy interview. There was a phone interview and a Maths and English test online before the face-to-face interview.
- Tell me about your customer service experience.
- How do you approach problem-solving?
