I was pretty anxious about the interview since I'm not a fan of competency-based interviews. However, the interviewer was super nice and made me feel really comfortable and at ease. They kicked things off by asking me to talk about myself, which helped me relax, and then they asked about my previous role. After that, we moved on to the competency questions, which I had prepared for. Everything went pretty smoothly.

Behavioral Group Presentation

The process started with a phone interview, then there was a group assessment day. During the assessment day, I had to introduce myself and then we did a group dynamic. I also had to do a short pitch on why I should be hired. The recruiters were lovely and everyone was nice during the process.

The initial phone call and assessment were pretty standard. However, I realized that the impression the phone interviewer forms of you is quite difficult to change during the main interview. When you get to the actual interview, be really mindful of what you say and how you say it. The interviewer in Belfast seems to have already made up their mind before you even arrive, and unless you're exceptionally brilliant at everything, you won't sway them. They will really delve into your personal life, and anything they find that they don't agree with will be used to support their preconceived notions about you. It's not a typical competency-based interview; it's more like a chat about your life, who you are, and what you've accomplished or failed to achieve. I actually learned a lot about myself from this experience and know what areas I need to focus on improving.
