Customer Benefit Advisor
First, you'll do a recorded interview that you have about a week to finish. You can start whenever, and it'll involve some written Q&A about the company, and then you'll record your own answers to questions. Your recorded part is timed and you get three tries. If you pass that, a recruiter will call you to make sure you get the role and ask more about your experience. If you pass that, you'll have a live online interview. Most questions will be behavioral, and about 10 minutes will be spent on a client case scenario.
- Can you tell me about a time you dealt with an upset customer and calmed them down?
Information Security Analyst
The interview process was a bit unusual, with 3 rounds in total. It started with the hiring manager, which was a basic behavioral Q&A. The second round involved senior security engineers and was purely technical. The final round was with the director, combining technical and scenario-based questions. Hoping the hiring process is quick, and HR follows up effectively for fast onboarding.
- Can you explain the basic TCP/IP stack and common ports?
- Could you define vulnerability management?

Customer Service Center Vice President
I applied online and then got an email to interview with the recruiter. It was a 45-minute call where they tried to sell me on relocating to Tennessee and how great they are. We talked about my background and they wanted to schedule a video panel with the hiring manager and a peer. A few days before, the recruiter sent a LinkedIn message asking if I was still interested, which felt like a mass email. The next day was the video panel, which was a joke. They said 'I know we only have 30 minutes so we will jump right into our questions' even though it was scheduled for an hour. Big disconnect there. Two days later, I got a rejection email. Such a waste of time.
- Can you tell me about how you manage conflict at work and with your team?
- How do you address conflict among your direct reports?
Actuarial Consultant
My interview for Actuarial Consultant at Unum went well initially, with the interviewers being engaging and professional. However, the follow-up has been poor. I've tried contacting them multiple times over the last 5-6 weeks via email and phone, but haven't heard anything back about my application status, feedback, or even just an update. It's been disappointing given how professional they were at first. I get that companies have different processes and timelines, but keeping candidates informed is really important. I hope Unum can get better at their follow-up to show they value the time candidates put in.
