Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Unum.
Analyst
The interview process started with 2 initial rounds that were mainly about behavioral questions and gauging my interest in the company. If I passed those, I moved on to a half-day session with 4-5 interviews. The earlier behavioral questions delved into things like location, what value I could bring, my past experience, and what motivates me. The interviews during the half-day were a mix of technical and behavioral questions.
- Would you be open to relocating to Chattanooga?
- What motivates you?
- Can you describe your previous experience?
Analyst
The interview process involved three stages: first, a screener call, followed by a behavioral interview, and finally a take-home assignment that prepared me for a presentation. The presentation itself was the most time-intensive part, requiring a full day of preparation. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and communicated well during the presentation.
- Can you introduce yourself and explain your motivation for applying to this position?
Program Analyst
Had a quick chat about my programming experience. This was the second interview, the first one was just a standard resume review. I wasn't offered another interview. Didn't get any feedback.
- Tell me about your Python experience.
