It was a long process, with everything managed by the head office in the UK. First, I completed an online application, then had a phone interview, and finally a face-to-face interview. The face-to-face interview was with either the area manager, or the retail store manager and assistant manager.

Behavioral

So I had three interviews with TUI. Everything was going well and they had positive feedback until the end. They told me my Swedish wasn’t good enough, which was strange because I’m fluent. The HR person said I used too many English words and that she had a ‘feeling’ I couldn’t handle meetings in Swedish, even though she didn’t take notes or ask me about my language skills. She kept saying they needed someone with a native Swedish tongue, which felt like a jab since I wasn’t born there but speak it fluently. It was disheartening because it felt like they disqualified me based on where I’m from rather than my actual abilities. I was disappointed because I’ve always gotten positive feedback on my Swedish skills from employers. It also showed me I didn’t want to work with a team that makes decisions based on feelings instead of competence.

Behavioral Technical Case

First, I had a casual chat with the hiring manager and the department head, which lasted about 30 minutes. Then, there was a panel interview with 7 people. This lasted about 90 minutes and included questions about my previous experience and a case study. The recruiter mentioned there would be some competency-based questions using the STAR method, but that didn't happen. I heard back within 2 days.

Behavioral Technical Case Presentation

Best recruitment experience ever! A multi-step process, I admit it's a bit long (with the holidays in between), but very interesting and with absolute respect! First step - video call with HR to understand my background. Then, if all is good - interview with the future N+1 and their counterpart, but 24 hours before the interview, you'll receive a case study and 30 minutes before the interview - a numerical test/reasoning test. During the interview, you'll need to present the results of these two tests. Then, if OK - a personality test.
