First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Sears.
Sales Manager
The interview process was primarily focused on behavioral questions, with some case studies mixed in. They were really interested in hearing about how I've handled challenging quotas in the past and my strategies for leading my district to meet those goals.
- Can you share some of your past experiences dealing with difficult sales quotas?
- Describe how you've led your district to achieve its sales targets.
Sales Associate
The process in my case took a while because they interviewed several candidates at the same time, but besides that the interview was quite simple. They have you fill out a job application that they provide when you attend, so they ask you to bring a pen and your personal documents in case you forget a detail on the application.
- What position are you looking for?
- What salary do you think or would you like it to be?
- Age, education, previous experience, etc.
Manager
The Sears hiring journey usually starts with you applying online, giving your details, past jobs, and when you can work. If they think you're a good fit, a recruiter or manager will usually call or email you. They'll chat about your schedule, what you want to earn, and your experience. Then, you'll likely have an in-person or video interview where they might ask about customer service or how you handle different situations. For some jobs, you might do a quick test to see if you fit in or have the right skills. After that, they'll probably do a background check and might call your references. Depending on the job and where it is, they might also want a drug test before making you an offer. Once all checks are clear, they'll offer you the job. If you accept, you'll go through orientation and training to get you ready for the role.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Technical Associate
It was a 3 round process. First two rounds were DSA. Then there was an OOPS round. The last round was with the CEO. The DSA rounds were pretty standard and covered basic OOPS concepts. There were also a few system design questions and questions about my experience from my resume.
- Core Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA)
- Object-Oriented Programming (OOPS)
- System Design
