Program Manager
I applied and then had a quick 20-minute chat with the recruiter. It was more than just the usual salary talk; they asked about my background in research and edge solutions. After that, I moved straight to a 45-minute call with the hiring manager, and again, I was told I was advancing. It seemed like everything was going well. The next step involved five separate 30-minute interviews, and they were scheduled pretty quickly after each other. Scheduling the last one was tricky because the interviewer was in Singapore, so I had to do it really early in the morning or late at night, like 6:30 pm my time. I was pretty tired by then, especially after dinner and trying to get some kid-free time. I didn't hear back for two days, so I nudged the recruiter. They finally replied the next week, saying they were still interviewing and would be in touch. I was still a possibility, but my enthusiasm definitely dropped, and I started looking elsewhere. About three weeks later, I got an automated rejection email. It felt disrespectful, especially since I'd invested so much time, including that late call. A personal note from the recruiter would have been better, given I was a final candidate. I've had other interviews where recruiters were more thoughtful, even if I didn't get the job. I'm now accepting another offer. It feels like if I wasn't a good fit, they shouldn't have wasted my time with so many interviews. The job's been posted again, so they're clearly having trouble finding someone. It's been months.
- Can you describe how you incorporate AI into your work?
Process Engineer
So, there were 3 interview stages in total. The first one was online and pretty short, like 15-25 minutes, and they only asked 2 questions. The second stage was also online and focused on my overall experience and how it fits with the job. The last one was in person and involved technical questions specific to a process engineering role.
- Can you tell me about your problem-solving skills?
- Describe your experience and how it relates to this position.
- We will be asking technical questions relevant to process engineering.
Verification Engineer
I interviewed with 3 people from the verification team, one manager and 2 engineers. The manager asked some basic questions about my past work experience. Then the 2 engineers asked if I had experience with the qualifications listed in the job posting. The interview wrapped up in about an hour and the manager mentioned they had another person to interview and that I'd hear back by the end of the week. It actually took them over a week to get back to me after I followed up with HR, a full week after the interview had passed.
- Do you have experience with UVM?
Senior Software Engineer
Applied online. The whole thing took 2 months. There were 3 steps total. First, a 40-minute preliminary interview with the hiring manager. Then, I had to do a technical presentation based on my research and also go through 3 panel interviews. Lastly, I had a one-hour interview with the hiring manager again. After all that, they said they'd contact me within a week, but then totally ghosted me. I sent follow-up emails twice, once after 15 days and again after 21 days, but got no reply. It's unacceptable to be treated this way, especially by someone at a director level.
