First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Seagate Technology.
Verification Engineer
I interviewed with 3 people from the verification team, one manager and 2 engineers. The manager asked some basic questions about my past work experience. Then the 2 engineers asked if I had experience with the qualifications listed in the job posting. The interview wrapped up in about an hour and the manager mentioned they had another person to interview and that I'd hear back by the end of the week. It actually took them over a week to get back to me after I followed up with HR, a full week after the interview had passed.
- Do you have experience with UVM?
Software Test Engineer
I sent in my application online and got a call for a phone interview with HR, but after that, I didn't hear back. Then, a few weeks later, I met an engineer from Seagate at a job fair. We chatted, I gave him my resume, and he called me the next day with some questions. I mentioned my earlier HR interview. He then passed my resume to the original team. I got an email to set up another phone interview. I spoke with an engineer from the design team I initially applied to, and she explained how they got my resume. She asked standard phone interview questions, and by the end, offered me an onsite interview. During the onsite, I met with 6 people separately, including the hiring manager and an HR rep. The HR rep gave me a quick tour. The interview lasted 3 hours. I asked for a tour of the areas I'd be working in, which took half an hour. I felt it went really well. The whole process wasn't scary; they seemed really welcoming. The day after the interview, the hiring manager emailed me about an offer. I completed the paperwork for my background check.
- Tell me about yourself.
- Do you have any technical questions for us?
- Can you describe your responsibilities at your last job?
Validation Engineer
The interview process was straightforward and didn't have any tricky questions. It included both technical and behavioral questions. The process felt fair and wasn't excessively long, which was a positive compared to some other companies. Overall, it was a good experience, and I was offered the position. I think there were 3 rounds of interviews in total.
- Can you share an instance where you faced a challenge and explain your approach to handling it?
