Billing Analyst
The interview process was quick and straightforward. It started with questions about previous jobs and a specific situation involving dealing with stress, which was answered promptly. Following that, there were general questions about past job knowledge and experiences, with three main questions to answer.
- How would you handle a stressed customer?
- Can you tell me about your previous jobs?
- What knowledge and experiences do you have from past jobs?
Marketing
The hiring process for a role at Ricoh was disappointing. I applied online and was contacted by a recruiter from Manpower because Ricoh outsources recruiting. Initial interviews with the recruiter and hiring manager went well. The hiring manager was engaging and professional. I was told I'd likely hear back by the end of the week to continue the process. Unfortunately, I received no updates. After a week and a half, I followed up with the recruiter and got a vague response. I reached out again via text and voicemail after another week and a half, but received no reply at all. This lack of communication was frustrating and unprofessional. Companies should provide timely updates to candidates, even if it’s a brief acknowledgment, rather than leaving them without any response. I hope Ricoh can improve their process to ensure better candidate experiences in the future.

I got an invite for a telephone interview on Feb 27, 2025. They asked for my availability for the next week, and I'd get a call to discuss the interview. I didn't get a call that week, but two weeks later, which I missed because my availability changed. I emailed my availability for the following week, and the same thing happened again. No call, no voicemail, and it was outside my availability. I emailed twice the third time about my availability to sort this out. They called 15 minutes after another important in-person interview I had, outside my availability, and left a voicemail entirely in Chinese. My application doesn't say I speak Chinese. I've never seen such disorganization and lack of communication in my applications; this call could've happened in the first week if they gave a specific time instead of me waiting 9 hours daily just in case. I was rejected by email, presumably because I missed their three call attempts. Very frustrating to be messed around for months just to be rejected due to their disorganization.

I went through several selection steps. The first two were with an external talent acquisition from a group company, and the third was directly with RICOH's Line Manager and HR. After these steps, the talent acquisition told me I was the best candidate and they wanted to finalize the hiring, even discussing my role and salary. When I didn't hear back, I followed up. They contacted me back saying I had to wait because they 'forgot' that company policy requires them to consider internal candidates first due to job rotation. In the end, they told me they decided to go with an internal candidate. This selection process felt like a joke; first, they say they want to hire you, then they take it back because they 'forgot' about company policy. And they talked so much during the interviews about how seriously they take their selection process. Imagine that.
- How do you evaluate your experience in relation to the position based on various points?
