First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ricoh.
Account Executive
It was a terrible recruiter call, felt like a check box interview. It's understandable why they're having trouble transforming the company. The recruiter didn't have any details about the role, couldn't clarify if the territory was enterprise or global, and didn't know the salary range or split. Just really weird.

So I applied online, then had an automated phone interview. After that, a real person called me. Then I went to the local office for a face-to-face with the sales manager who wasn't local. After that, I met with his boss, who I thought was just a formality. But this person had no industry experience and had only been there 2 months. They immediately offered me a lower, entry-level position I didn't even apply for. They said my original application expired and I had to reapply. Then I met the person who would be my boss. I told him I expected to crush my numbers to prove the VP wrong for overlooking me. He asked if I would take the job, and I asked for the offer in writing. He asked again if I'd accept if offered, and I again asked for it in writing. After getting the written offer, I accepted and gave 3 weeks notice to finish a project. On my first day, they weren't ready for me or another new hire, and we had to wait another 3 weeks for training to start.
- Would you consider an Account Executive role rather than the Major Accounts Executive one?
Account Executive
It started with a phone screen where they asked some basic qualifying questions. Then I had meetings with two managers who seemed really professional and genuine about finding the right fit. The office environment was nice and professional. They kept the interviews comfortable and practical, asking questions that really revealed who I am rather than textbook ones. The second interview was in person with the regional manager and one of the managers from the first round. It was even better! They made sure the job was a good match for me and that I was a good match for them. They let me be myself and were not demeaning at all! They liked that I asked questions and showed interest in the company. I felt ready to start working after the interview, which is a sign of good management.
