Senior SEO Analyst
Be warned: this another company asking for you to create new intellectual property and perform free work in the interview process under the guise of a "Take home case to generate insights on relevant projects." Somehow walking them through a detailed report of a major SEO project that was already accomplished and for which I was paid, wasn't enough for them to gauge my "ability to generate insights." We all deserve better as interview candidates.
- Can you give a detailed overview of your past accomplishments?

It started with a phone screen, then a hiring manager call, a take-home assignment, a (long) virtual onsite, and finally a leadership interview. Everyone I met was really friendly and easy to talk to. The final interview, though, was a different story. It didn't seem like there was a clear direction for the conversation, which made me feel like they had already made their decision. On top of that, the general "vibe" from the interviewer was giving me that same feeling, which was unfortunate because I felt like feedback had been positive until then. The biggest downside overall was the timeline. There were long gaps between steps, and the whole process dragged on for almost two months. After investing that much time and effort, getting a rejection at the end was definitely disappointing. Overall, the timeline and blunt rejection with no feedback after the final interview left me with a negative feeling.
- Given the data, predict customer churn.
Data Scientist
I had a phone screen with the recruiter and then was given a take-home assignment. They estimated it would take 3-4 hours, but it actually took me about 20 hours to complete, with multiple components and specific file structure requirements. I invested a lot of time in the assignment, but unfortunately, I never heard back. While being ghosted after a recruiter call is one thing, it would be good to at least get a response to a follow-up email when a candidate dedicates an entire week to a take-home task.
- Can you build a classification prediction model?
- What are the methods for evaluating an A/B split test?
Customer Success Manager
Had a 3 step interview process. First, met with the Recruiting Manager for an initial chat about myself and the role. Then I met with the Director of CSM/hiring manager to go over the role more in depth and see how I would be a good fit, we talked about the role, team, and company goals and how it relates to my background/experience. Lastly, had a panel interview to get to know the team, they went further into my background and talked about how I could bring value to this team as a career pivot into a new industry.
- Given potential lack of industry experience, what strategies would you use to gain the necessary job knowledge?
