I had a phone screen with the recruiter and then was given a take-home assignment. They estimated it would take 3-4 hours, but it actually took me about 20 hours to complete, with multiple components and specific file structure requirements. I invested a lot of time in the assignment, but unfortunately, I never heard back. While being ghosted after a recruiter call is one thing, it would be good to at least get a response to a follow-up email when a candidate dedicates an entire week to a take-home task.

Started with a phone screen with HR, covering basics like 'why this company'. Then, a second phone interview with a data science team member focused on general concepts like regression and discussed a past project. After that, a 4-hour take-home assessment involving a mini data science project with code, prediction, and report deliverables was assigned, with an extension granted due to a material delay. The final virtual onsite included several 1v1 chats with senior folks (no technical questions, surprisingly casual, like the presentation part) and a presentation on a past project to junior and senior members. It was a bit chaotic without a schedule for the 4-5 hours, so I didn't know who or what to expect or when breaks were.

If successful, you'll have an onsite interview. Before the onsite, you'll get a dataset and have 4 hours to perform predictive tasks and prepare a presentation for management. It's best to schedule this assessment a week before the onsite to allow ample time for crafting your presentation. The onsite involves a campus tour, followed by a series of interviews with data science team members. They'll want to understand your reasoning behind your actions, including a code review of your earlier assessment. There's a lunch break with coworkers. Throughout the day, remember to ask insightful questions. The day concludes with a behavioral interview with an upper manager from HR. Avoid scheduling the assessment too close to the onsite, as it can lead to sleep deprivation and reduced energy.
