First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Red Ventures.
Product Manager
I got contacted on LinkedIn. Then I had one call with a recruiter and then the head of engineering, even though it was for a PM role. The recruiter had to reschedule once but the role seemed like a really good fit for my skills. I was asking for less than their budgeted salary.
- Can you describe a customer journey?
- How do you handle conflict and what is your background?
Associate Product Manager
So the interview process is really long, it's about 6-7 calls in total. It goes like this: First, a recruiter call, then a member of the team, then a case study followed by a meeting with three other people which takes about 3-4 hours, and finally a call with the VP. The recruiters at Red Ventures are really nice and quick to let you know if you're moving on, which makes Red Ventures look good. But when you start meeting the team, it can get a bit rough. In my case, one person from digital marketing was 15 minutes late and seemed disengaged. Things got worse during the VP calls; I had to stay composed while the VP bad-mouthed my previous work and made it seem like I needed Red Ventures more than they needed me. I answered respectfully but ended the call with a chuckle. Four days later, I found out I didn't get the offer because of my 'personality,' specifically how I talk and act around upper management, because I said 'weird.' This is despite interviewers being late, swearing, and making fun of my resume.
- Describe a situation where your delivered work didn't meet expectations. How did you manage it, and what actions did you take?
Product Manager
They were super quick with setting up the next steps, you usually find out about moving forward and get interview invites within the same week or the next week at the latest. There were about 4 steps total in the process.
- When faced with two critical tasks that cannot both be accomplished, how do you decide which one to prioritize?
- In situations where resource limitations or other factors prevent fulfilling a client's request, how do you decline it?
- Can you share an instance where you demonstrated analytical skills?
