First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Protiviti.
Consultant
So at Protiviti, the interview process usually has about 2 to 4 rounds, but it really just depends on the specific role, how much experience you have, and what the business needs. First up is usually an HR/Recruiter Screening, which can be over the phone or video. The main goal here is just to see if you're a basic fit and if you're actually interested. They'll ask things like 'Tell me about yourself,' 'Why Protiviti?', and about your notice period, where you want to work, your salary expectations, and if you understand the role a bit.
- Can you walk me through the Record to Report (R2R) process?
- What activities are involved in month-end close?
- Could you explain journal entries, covering accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and provisions?
Consultant
There were about 5 questions, mostly standard competency questions. It ended with a question about the role of management consulting in society, which was a bit of a curveball. They also asked what makes it a good time to work at Protiviti and about a time I worked in a team. They also asked how I manage busy and bench periods in consulting.
- What makes Protiviti a good place to work?
- Describe a time you worked in a team.
- How do you handle busy and downtime periods in consulting?
Talent Acquisition Sourcing Partner
The interview process was pretty good and easy to follow. It started with a phone screen and then there were about 2 or 3 more interviews. I liked that I got to talk to someone who is part of their EBRG, which gave me a good feel for the company culture and what they value. Even though someone else got the job, they let me know quickly and followed up like they said they would at 3 months and then again at 6 months with updates.
- What drives your work?
- How do you handle feedback?
- What kind of work setting helps you do your best?
Technical Lead
The interview process usually consists of 4 to 5 stages. It begins with a screening round to check basic fit and background. Then, there are two technical interview levels (L1 and L2) that assess domain knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and practical skills. Following that is a managerial discussion (MD) to evaluate communication, leadership, and how well you align with team objectives. Lastly, an HR round covers culture fit, compensation, and logistics.
- Can you elaborate on how to maintain strong technical expertise and adopt a consulting approach?
- What are the key aspects of being a successful consulting professional in a technical role?
