Had a quick phone call first to chat about my background and what I can do. Then had a video interview. It was quiet for a bit after that, so I called the hiring manager. An assistant called me back a few days later and let me know they picked someone else who was a better fit experience-wise, but they thought I was highly qualified.

Applied through a recruiting firm. First, had to complete an AP style test where I corrected errors in sentences. Then a phone call and an in person interview. After completing these, I thought I was in the final stages and was told an offer was being prepared. Unexpectedly, there were four more phone interviews, each lasting 30 mins to an hour. One interview was rescheduled because the hiring manager forgot about it. I also submitted extra work, writing samples, and emails detailing my current job. Despite dedicating significant time, taking time off, and being available, I was not given an offer. The reason provided was a few missed corrections on the initial AP style test, which was strange since it was the first step and could have been flagged earlier. The entire experience was incredibly frustrating, and I wouldn't reapply to this company.
