I had a great initial phone interview with one of their Directors who was based in Chicago. She asked me about my background and experience while she filled in the gaps about the role, company and position they were hiring for. The majority of the team this role supports is based at their Boise office which is where I live so she was glad that I was local and could work from their offices. Everything sounded great and she told me that she would be in touch to schedule me for some additional interviews. I followed up a couple days later thanking her for her time and letting her know my availability for the next few weeks. A week went by and I never heard back so I sent another follow up email. Another week went by and still nothing. I sent one more follow up email and have never heard back from them. Not even an automated rejection email. I was totally ghosted. As a Talent Acquisition Manager with 15 years of experience, I am pretty disappointed in their process/actions. During the call, the Director really sold me on the company culture, diversity, benefits etc but this really left me with a poor view of their company.

The recruiter mentioned they needed this position filled urgently. I had peer interviews where it became clear the Compensation team was disorganized, lacking a leader, and C-Suite executives made decisions independently. I received a generic rejection email, and the job was reposted. Considering the Return to Office policy, it seems like I dodged a bullet. There appear to be sales turnover issues, and the company seems to be struggling.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

It was a strange interviewing process, seemed disorganized and unprofessional. I was recruited via LinkedIn and had a screening phone call. Then there were 2 Zoom interviews, followed by a mock call interview. The mock call seemed like a trick question format. The instructions said to act out discovery and use/modify their high-level pitch deck to sell their solution, and they provided objections ahead of time. The whole thing was 30 mins; I used 22 mins for discovery/qualification/objection handling and 8 mins for the pitch deck/booking next steps. I got feedback afterwards that I should have done less of the pitch deck and closing steps. My advice is to ditch the pitch deck they give you altogether. Unfortunately, it seemed like people were multitasking during most rounds, so I had to repeat myself a lot.

Behavioral Technical Coding System Design

First, I had a 30-minute phone chat with a recruiter where we talked about me, the open positions, and the company. They also asked a basic tech question about APIs. Then, a staff engineer conducted a 1-hour technical interview, which was surprisingly enjoyable and well-structured. Next, I had a 1-hour behavior interview with the hiring manager. After that, I had to choose between an online coding challenge or a home project. I opted for the home project. The next step was another 1-hour technical interview with two engineers where I had to go over my home project line by line. Finally, there was a 1-hour design interview with one engineer.
