So for this QC role in finance, the interview was pretty intense and tough. First, there was a quick call with the recruiter, then a technical test, and after that, some behavioral interviews. They really wanted to see how good I was at analyzing things, my attention to detail, and how well I work with others.

So, a recruiter from the company hit me up on LinkedIn. First, we had a phone call, just chatting about my background and company vibe. Then, they sent over a QA challenge, like a take-home test where I had to build my own test framework and write some tests. It was a solid challenge, and even though they said to take it easy, you kinda have to go all out to make it work right. After that, I had a video interview with two of their QA folks, one senior and one lead. It was about 1.5 hours total; the first hour was mostly about my experience and how their team works, and the last half hour we went over my code challenge. They seemed pretty impressed with my challenge solution, which felt great, and they were super friendly, almost like I had the job in the bag. But then, the recruiter emailed to talk again. I was convinced it was to finalize things, but she called and said I needed to improve on some skills, even though the interviewers liked those same skills. They were responsive and upfront about the process, but honestly, I still don't get why I wasn't a fit. She gave me some reasons when I pressed, but it was about skills I'm actually strong in, and I have proof. So, the interview process itself was decent, but their final decision and explanation are confusing, and I'm not sure what they were really looking for.

I got referred by someone I know. The whole thing took less than a week. First, a technical recruiter gave me the lowdown on the job, asked some basic tech questions, and chatted about my career goals, why I'm interested in the company, and what I know about it. Then, a few days later, I had interviews with the team lead, manager, and director. They seemed to like what they saw, and the recruiter told me the next day they were happy and set up another interview. This time it was with my potential manager, a Senior Software Engineer, and two senior QA Engineers. The very next morning, I got a call with the offer, which I accepted. It was a good experience overall; I learned a lot about the company and the folks I'd be working with.
